I think we can all admit that church is sometimes often, for lack of a better word…boring!
Especially for children!
Through my many years of photographing First Holy Communion I have found kids can be very creative when they while away the seemingly unending hour of mass. Here are few examples of things you might want to try the next time you find yourself bored out of your mind in church.
The most obvious thing to do is fiddle with a piece of jewelry or a wrist watch, however that’s only entertaining for a few minutes.
Playing between the pews or with a friend in the aisles is always fun,
or you can build yourself an imaginary fort and play UNDER!
Coloring is a nice quiet option,
or you can DANCE!
Sometimes it’s good to just put your shoes back on,
find a friend who looks to be as bored as you,
and ask about his day.
If all else fails, lean your head on someone’s shoulder,
and a enjoy a little nap.
